When looking at those “Day to Night” style guides in our favorite glossy magazines, some of us can’t help but wonder: whose daily life is being illustrated? Who is this woman who needs a wardrobe that will take her from brunch with friends to the beach to an art gallery opening to a night out on the town (and how do we steal her life)?
When it comes down to it, those how-to’s just aren’t very relatable. Katie Frost of Hems For Her is a working mom who needs looks that can carry her through a busy school year. She’s selected a handful of Gwynnie Bee looks that will keep you looking fresh, no matter what the occasion!
“As a mom of a busy kindergartner, a high school English teacher, and a blogger, I feel like I am constantly on the move. Some days I am at work by 7:00 AM and don’t get home until well after 7:00 PM.
My days are filled with teaching and taking care of my son, and my nights are filled with working out, taking photos, helping with homework, and attending meetings, conferences, and football games. I need looks that will carry through the day and into the night and still look fresh and fun. They must be comfortable, but versatile as well. I love to pair a blazer or jacket with dresses because it’s such an easy way to dress up a a casual dress for work, but then I can throw it in the car for a casual blog meet-up or PTA meeting!”
From Work to PTA Meeting
The shell top and convertible skirt keep things comfortable while the jacket dresses the look up a bit and lends it some style. For an evening event, ditch the top and wear the Kiyonna skirt as a dress.
From Board Meeting to Date Night
This Eloquii dress hits right at the knee, making it work appropriate, especially when paired with this cute peplum jacket, but the V-cut neckline with lace overlay makes for a subtly sexy evening look.
From Soccer Practice to a Movie with Friends
Bright red pops against black and white stripes for a fun look that’s always appropriate.
When the weekend means volunteering at the kids’ play rehearsal or cheering them on at the game, this outfit will keep you comfy while still feeling stylish.
