Every month, we ask one of our Gwynnie Bee members to take a style outside of their wheelhouse for a 24-hour test drive. This month, we asked friend of GB and blogger, Kelly Augustine, to take us through her day wearing someone outside her style profile. See how this chic city girl took a romantic bow blouse, the Love & Legend by Addition Elle Lip Print Tie Neck Blouse, to fit into a day in her life.

“My style is what I like to call “Comfort Chic” – I’m usually in denim, but dressed up with a fun bag or shoes.”

“I haven’t worn a blouse like this in forever. Vintage, especially bow necklines, are really not my thing. Neither are ruffles. I went through a Mad Men phase in 2011 and that was all that I wore, but I retired that vibe half a decade ago. Now I’m a lot edgier.”

“I actually am a fan of this top! The ruffles in the wrist feel Victorian which is on trend, and the mix of dark red and black make this pretty chic. Most bow necklines are both restricting and a bit distracting, but this one is neither. And I love the matte black buttons throughout, it’s a really nice detail!”

“Also, I was expecting a shirt of this style to be a weird polyester like it’s vintage cousins of yesteryear, but this one was flowy and chiffon-like which made it breathable and pretty comfortable to wear. Overall, this is a thumbs up from me.”

“To make this top feel less mid-century secretary and more modern, I paired it with lots of leather for a grungier, updated feel.”
