We’re on our way, L.A.! Our next stop on the Gwynnie Bee Inspired by You Tour is starting on September 14th!, and we wanted the insider scoop on all the hotspots. So, we turn to one of our super cool and glam hosts, Reah Norman of Styled By Reah, for the down-low on her favorite must-go spots in the city. Check out her virtual tour, then comment and let us know what places in Los Angeles you’d add to this must-see list.
I love to spend a perfect SoCal afternoon by the beach—browsing the unique shops and galleries, sipping coffee at Intelligentsia, enjoying a yummy salad at Lemonade, and treating myself to a brow wax at Kelley Baker Brows. This hip little strip that is Venice Beach-adjacent was named after the man who built the nearby Venice canals, which are surrounded by an adorable neighborhood of beautiful homes.
Grand Central Market:
The Grand Central Market is a downtown LA landmark that has been operating since 1917! You can literally find anything you want at GCM… it is basically a giant food court meets grocery store, meets general store, and has now become super cool, with some of the hippest eateries in LA, including Eggslut, and G&B Coffee, which the New York Times named “one of the best iced coffees in the USA” and it IS pretty dang good! This is a great place to go when you need to multitask grocery shopping and eating, or when you are with a group of friends and you cannot decide where to go eat!
Huntington Library & Gardens:
One of my favorite places to escape the city and find some peace! When you step onto this property you immediately feel transported. The Huntington is a private, nonprofit institute founded in the early 1900’s by Southern California businessman Henry E. Huntington that boasts over 15 international gardens and a vast library and art collection. A true gem in the city that I cherish!
This is my go-to spot for a yummy, warm, comforting meal that never disappoints. My boyfriend and I literally go at LEAST once a week. They know us by name, and we love to sit on the little porch with our dog. Ramen in L.A. that is much like what you can find in the streets of Tokyo, founded by a young 20-something entrepreneur who grew up in Japan created a unique recipe of all-natural ingredients, hand crafted from scratch, and with lots of soul! It is seriously addicting and they are open until 3am!
Cedarhouse Los Angeles & Life Food Organic:
I come to Cedarhouse when I need a bit of zen, an energy boost, or when I am starting to feel a bit under the weather. They are a holistic detox day spa that helps me stay on track and feel balanced in the crazy hustle bustle of the city, and I can literally pop in and out when I am on the go. They offer B12 shots for energy, and detoxifying infrared sauna treatments, and there is an amazing juice bar and organic cafe next door called Life Food Organic that has me obsessed! I always leave feeling fueled and ready to take on the world!
Thanks for the recommendations, Reah! Don’t forget, we’ll be in L.A. from September 14th-18th. Keep an eye out for all our Cali. goings-on and we’ll be bringing you great photos and fun fashion from the West Coast. See you soon!
