We’re so inspired by our members who often go above and beyond to better their communities. That’s why we love The Association of Junior Leagues, an organization of over 150,000 women committed to education and charitable work. We recently partnered with the Junior League and offered $2,000 of unrestricted funding to the chapters who hit our goal.
We’re excited to introduce you to Erin (President) and Carrie (President Elect), from the Ft. Myers, Florida chapter, the first to hit the goal and receive the $2,000 of funding. We chatted with these women about style, what The Junior League means to them, and who they’re inspired by.

My personal style is classic, simple, professional, and I try to aim for a little bit of elegance where I can. I love to pair a classic black dress with a bold heel to give the overall look a little unexpected interest. I love rich, jewel tone colors, an eye catching bag, and clothes that don’t wilt over the course of a twelve hour day. I think that my fashion sense is most influenced by my professional life, if I can’t wear something to court it won’t be a highly functional piece for me.
My sense of style varies depending on my mood, the event, etc. I love to dress super casual to dolled up. I tend to stay away from very high trendy items. I tend to gravitate towards solids and accent them with colorful accessories like statement necklaces and scarves.
Carrie, tell us about your experience with Gwynnie Bee so far!
My Gwynnie Bee experience so far has been so much fun! I have been so impressed with the quality of the items I have received, as well as with the number of new items available every week, and I have nothing but good things to say about the whole process. I am excited every time I come home to a box of dresses waiting for me, and my husband might even be starting to enjoy the mini fashion shows. I recently started using the app as well as the website, and it has been a great addition for me, I love having my closet on hand whenever I want to browse. I’m not sure how the cleaning process works, but I’m convinced that I’m the first person to have every dress that’s been sent my way as there has not been a spot, stain, rip, or mark on a single item I have received.
Erin, what is your favorite project that the Junior League of Fort Myers works on? WISH (Women Instilling Self Hope) – we mentor and do special programming with the young women spending time at the Department of Juvenile Justice Center. It’s been a long standing project for our League – one that our members and the young girls look forward to monthly.
Carrie, which pieces have you been most excited to receive? Have any of them surprised you?
I have been excited to receive the two Tocca dresses I have tried so far, and I am eagerly awaiting a few of the others from their collection. As far as surprises, there’s not one dress that I can point to that has been a surprise for me. Rather, I have been surprised by how much fun it is to step outside of my clothing comfort zone. Since there is no long term commitment to the clothes I closet, I am far more willing to try a bold print or a bright color, or a dress with a fun hemline or something a little more body conscious than what I would normally buy for myself.
Erin, who are the women who inspire you?
My Junior League friends! These women are so giving to our organization and our community!
And Carrie, who are the women who inspire you?
The women who inspire me are the ones who I see everyday, all around me, taking on the world and doing so with grace. I am inspired by women who are not afraid to stand up for their ideas as well as their ideals. The women who know they can make a difference, and are unapologetically smart and strong and beautiful all at the same time. I am lucky to call a few of these women my friends, and on a very good day, I am lucky enough to be worthy of them.
