Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition:
Listening to salsa music while my aunt and mom cook in the kitchen. The laughter and chatter make me smile. I’ll sneak in there for a taste and we’ll dance around for a sec. Music is just a big part of our holiday because it reminds us of past Thanksgivings and how grateful we are to celebrate another one. And there’s always more dancing after dinner.

Give us a tip for what to do with Thanksgiving leftovers:
I like to make a casserole with some of the leftovers and the remaining will be side dishes. Stuffing makes a great base for it and I love to sprinkle cranberries in it with pulled apart turkey, pulled pork (known as Pernil to us), diced asparagus, and topped with gravy. My mom’s spanish yellow rice and beans are always a great side dish (it always tastes better on the second day). If there’s leftovers after that, it’s time for some delicious stuffing, turkey, cranberry and gravy sandwiches (warm Spanish bread or sourbread is the best!)

Do you prefer to dress up for the holidays or dress for comfort? Describe what you typically sport on Turkey Day!
Dress up definitely! Thanksgiving gives me yet another excuse to dress up and wear something sparkly or full of color. This year, I may wear a sequin sweater and tulle skirt with my new pair of metallic Adidas, just because!

I try to do a mixture of both. I think comfort is key for holidays since they are typically long days however its such a special time that dressing up just fits the occasion

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is getting to spend time with my family and cooking as a family. I love making pies and then sitting around the table, chatting and enjoy the delicious food.

Definitely dress up! My favorite part of the holiday season is getting to get dressed up in all the sparkly and festive outfits. This year I will probably be wearing a velvet dress, tights and booties.

Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition:
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition starts after dinner – we clear the dishes and return to the table to talk and talk. There’s no telling what topics will come up, but I value that time together. We laugh, and we share memories — and if politics comes up, we bring out the pie fast!!

Give us a tip for what to do with Thanksgiving leftovers:
I like making turkey sandwiches with Hawaiian rolls the day after Thanksgiving! I also call dibs on all the leftover cranberry sauce!

Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday! I get a little frantic when I’m around big crowds of people! I much prefer to take advantage of the sales from the comfort of my own home!

Do you travel or host for the holidays?
I have never hosted a holiday before! My family is all down south, so I travel home every year for Christmas, but I spend Thanksgiving up in Chicago with my boyfriend’s family. I love being a guest!

Do you prefer to dress up for the holidays or dress for comfort? Describe what you typically sport on Turkey Day!
I make the most out of EVERY chance to dress up! Holidays are meant for sparkly accents or bright pops of color! But I have learned over the years to wear flats instead of my favorite heels and keep my skirts and dresses on the longer side or to wear tights or leggings. Having a little extra coverage makes it easier to get up and out of the sofa without any wardrobe mishaps!

Happy Thanksgiving from us to you!
