Every month, we ask one of our Gwynnie Bee members to take a style outside of their style profile for a 24-hour test drive. This month we asked Rochelle of Beauticurve, to try something new in one of our favorite neighborhoods.
Rochelle in the Eloquii Printed Tee Dress
How would you describe your current personal style?
My style is really a mix of everything. I’m kind of classic/trendy. I live for the switch up but I always gravitate to classic, girlier vibes.
What brands do you usually shop?
I always shop at ASOS. I’ve been at Target (The Who What Wear is bananas) and Boohoo a lot this year. I also love Eloquii.
Why did you choose this style to take a risk with?
This may sound crazy, but I shy away from shift dresses. I love them but they are not friends with my body shape. When I buy one I have to size up 2 or 3 sizes. Sometimes this works but most of the time it just doesn’t.
How would you rate this piece on a scale of 1-5 hearts, 5 being great?
I would give this dress 4.5 hearts. I would have preferred a longer sleeve actually.
How did you feel wearing this style all day?
This dress was actually perfect for all day wear. It’s super comfy and easy breezy. The length of this dress is perfect. It allowed me to be flexible with my options and the right proportions allowed me to wear with anything. Too long would have looked matronly or mumu-ish and too short would have made it look like a top.
How would you style this piece?
This dress is super versatile. You can take it from desk to dinner and still be appropriate. I styled the dress for the office and just added a vest to tone down the print and color — and a classic shoe. For running errands I slipped on some simple white tennis and it was perfect for wearing around town. Lastly, I added a moto jacket and sexy heels for a dinner or night out. This dress can be worn so many different ways. The possibilities are endless.
