Happy Fourth of July everybody!
This month we’re feeling inspired by an eclectic mix of classic Americana and this summer’s just-emerging trends. Our love for all-American pin-up girl style only grows stronger with the advent of Independence Day, of course. And summer is the season for tie dye; a trend that’s still going strong. We’re also on board with the comeback of the Birkenstock sandal, a crunchy gal favorite that’s suddenly popping up on the pages of Vogue. So dive in! Maybe you’ll find something in the mix that inspires you too!
Whoever said that red and pink can’t be worn together because they “clash” couldn’t have been more wrong. And when you do pull off this bold color combo, you’ll really look like you know what you’re doing.
Alison Gary of Wardrobe Oxygen shares her tips and tricks for mixing prints.
When it comes to current fashion trends, rules are meant to be broken! Most old rules have been thrown out the window with the latest runway looks and I couldn’t be more excited. One of my favorite ways to break the rules is pattern mixing. Here are a few of my favorite ways to mix prints, featuring looks from Gwynnie Bee!
What is more style-celebratory than a gorgeous print? Prints are an easy way to add a touch of intrigue to any ensemble – and with minimal effort too. They can be expressive, vibrant, attention-grabbing, and bold, soft, feminine, flirty, and fun. And with an endless and varied offering there’s certainly something for everyone. Nevertheless, one fashion rule decries prints for being loud and unflattering. It’s no secret that we at Gwynnie Bee believe that this rule is utter nonsense – just look at all the fantastic prints we carry!
The body-con, or “body-conscious,” look has been everywhere lately – we’ve spotted figure hugging styles on the runway and in the office, on the red carpet and on some of our most stylish friends.
Some believe that great style is defined by a particular set of rules. We’re all familiar with them – they’ve been around for as long as any of us can remember. For the most part, these rules have passed as law, but a few brave women among us have begun to question them. As it turns out, under even the slightest interrogation these so-called pillars of fashion crack and crumble and are exposed for what they really are: basically bogus, absolutely arbitrary, sartorial silliness.
