Designer Rachel Antonoff has built a cult following with her quirky and bold prints, theatrical presentation, and intricate themes. “Clothes should be a partner in crime for adventure,” she says. We’ve been fans for a long time, which is why we are thrilled to announce that Rachel has designed an exclusive capsule collection, just for GB! We sat down with Rachel in her studio to chat conversation-starting fashion, why she’s excited to design for the plus market, and how she met her rescue pup, Lafitte.
With Gwynnie Bee, you can try out the latest styles and we love to see our members experimenting with their style. This is particularly true when it comes to prints– you can try a bold look without the commitment! so we’re thrilled to bring you exclusive prints from designer Nikki Martinkovic. We sat down and chatted with Nikki whose modern, yet playful designs can be seen on Gwynnie Bee brands Jete and Isabel + Alice. We talked inspiration, the creative process, and why cool prints belong in plus size fashion.
One of our favorite things here at Gwynnie Bee is to bring you new brands that you’re sure to love, which is why we are so excited to have Alice & You on the site. The British brand brings more than a dash of color and fun to its super-flattering shapes that are spot on-trend. That must be why influencers like Clem of Bonjour Clem and Corissa of Fat Fashion Flow are already loving the brand! We talked to the team behind the brand (from their headquarters in London!) to give you some insight into Alice & You. Read on, and closet all the styles from the brand here.

The launch of the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 line on Gwynnie Bee was a huge hit. You love the actress and comedienne’s boho, relaxed style as much as we do. So we’re thrilled to announce a new set of her styles are launching now on Gwynnie Bee! Check out a few of our favorites from this week’s New Arrivals below from the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 collection.
We are so thrilled to have introduced Universal Standard, a new minimalistic plus size brand, to our members, and we jumped at the opportunity to visit the brand’s NYC showroom to talk to creators Alexandra Waldman and Polina Veksler. Alexandra, the designer, and her business partner, Polina, welcomed us to chat about elevated essentials, modern style, designing for the plus woman, and what we can expect next from the young brand.
Fashion-forward and print-driven, Modamix has quickly gained a loyal following for its on-trend, contemporary collection. We are such fans of what the two-year-old brand is doing that we had to bring you a look inside the line! Inside the brand’s midtown Manhattan showroom, we got a sneak peek at the Spring 2016 line and just generally had a great time chatting with the team about fashion, the plus community, and where Modamix is headed.
Actress and comedienne Melissa McCarthy has always had a love for fashion—did you know it was actually an early dream of hers to become a designer? Between her ongoing passion for design and her experience with having costumes made specifically for her, we can’t think of a better (or funnier!) star to launch a line we’re sure to love. That’s why Gwynnie Bee is thrilled to introduce select pieces of Melissa McCarthy Seven7 into our collection!
In keeping with our mission to expand the fashion industry and make it more inclusive of sizes 10-32, we seek out every opportunity we can to effect this change from the inside out. Close collaboration with the brands we carry is an important part of the equation. One brand that we’ve had the opportunity to work extensively with is Karen Kane. A recent visit to their NYC showroom gives us a behind the scenes glimpse at the working collaboration as our buyers Dina Abudayyeh and Kelsey Jones team up with Karen Kane’s E-Commerce Account Executive Ashly Yashchin to select new styles.
When Karen Kane’s son Michael, the brand’s Director of Marketing, discovered Gwynnie Bee while reading one of his favorite blogs, Wardrobe Oxygen, he foresaw the beginnings of a lasting partnership. “After getting in touch with Gwynnie Bee, we quickly realized what a perfect match we were, and it’s been a fantastic partnership ever since,” Karen told us in a recent interview.
